Hopscotch Chicken is Chef Kyle Itani’s chicken joint in the North Berkeley food hall, Epicurious Garden (next to Itani Sushi). It is the latest iteration of his first restaurant, Hopscotch — that was open in Oakland for 11 years — centered around Kyle’s beloved buttermilk fried chicken.

Platters and trays make the whole Hopscotch Chicken menu available in large format for groups and gatherings. If individual servings are what you’re after, order boxed lunches. The best part — our catering menu also includes sushi platters and rice bowl trays from Itani Sushi.

Springer Farms birds are dry brined for days, seasoned to perfection, and slow-roasted until succulent and falling from the bone. Don’t skip the side of Roasted Potatoes which are cooked in their rendered juices in the rotisserie.

Hopscotch’s beloved fried chicken is marinated for three days in buttermilk and Katakuriko starch, then fried under pressure until it’s impossibly crispy and simultaneously moist and juicy. Best ordered by the bucket!
Buttermilk Fried Chicken
The menu is centered around our chicken combos which offer guests a way to customize their meal. Combos include a choice of chicken — fried chicken tenders or rotisserie — then any side and sauce to go with it.
